and so yes! I've announced our finalised GLs list after the second round of selection. the first of course being all your interviews.
(By the way, lets hope Edwin joins us as a GL. He's appealing for a swap of courses and he's coming in as a freshie again! BUT! if he's back, he will definitely continue to be our GL)
I didn't have much joy announcing the list cause I knew those who were not chosen will be very disappointed. Whatever it is, I had to fulfill my responsibilities as a main comm to pick the best for both the freshies and of course our group. If you're chosen, good for you. Better work hard and well with the rest of your teammates!
Some names were not announed as they will be away from camp for certain reasons and all. So to those of you out there not attending FOW/ FOC with us, take care and gd luck to all your future endeavours!
Congrats to Yuting to for being chosen as our Head GL. But yes, still, everyone of you guys are just as important. As a Head GL, Yuting will now be expected to take a rather backseat role, acting as the bridge between the main comm and the GLs. The Main Comm will now move to other matters with the finalised GLs being the trusted ones to lead their freshies. The Head GL role is never easy. Being expected to attend all our meetings and debriefs, she will also need to seek the help of fellow GLs in the overall organisation and management of the group. The FAs will have no control in this so I urge all of you GLs to give a good thought about it and share as one and of course to assist Yuting.
Freshies are not the easiest lot to handle. So it is important we GLs stand firm and show unity in our opinions and actions in front of our freshies, setting the mood and of course being role models for them to follow. Those who attended the last FOC will defnitely know what I'm talking about. You inadvertedly may have just took one of your GL as your inspiring senior!
All of you are true GROUP LEADERS now. and I expect all of you to put in your best to lead the group, be it with the frontline cheering, group welfare, team dynamics or yuting's backseat organisation. We have an abundance of talents in every area! but what I'm waiting to see will be whether you GROUP LEADERS can function all these talents as a group.

Our sub empire names will be Cenbu Cengang & Cengua. Don't ask me why but those who understand hokkien will definitely know. This is not important, so for those eager cheerleaders, maybe you can start and have some thoughts about it.
If you think that the FAs are gona leave all of you alone to Yuting after the strong words I used in today's briefing, then YOU ARE WRONG!!! haha. I just wanted to give YUTING more stress. HAHA. okok. jokin. I'm not that evil.
FAs will now be highlighting to you peeps here and then with concerns from the school and also the organisers. We will be taking an even more backseat role than OTC to ensure the freshies, International students (SOMETHING NEW!) and GLs can click in this whole camp and everything runs smoothly (WALKIE TALKIES ARE IMPORTANT!). We will want to run this whole orientation well and I dare say the difficulty of being a GL has just got harder with the introduction of International Students. But Centis's GLs are champs. not chumps. so, I'm sure we'll be able to handle it right? haha.
Treat the upcoming ALP & FOC briefing(if any) with utmost importance. Only after that will we announce the finalised GLs list as split into subempires.
I congratulate all you chosen GLs and Yuting once again.
OTC has been good. But FOW/ FOC must be even better.
(I just recalled what Jodin said during OTC. that strong criticism that fired all of us up. Haha. Keep the fire burning then.)
After saying all this. I can finally smile again. haha. I didn't feel good this morning to be honest, it was like all bad news except announcing the names to those who made it as GLs?
there are stringent regulations to follow, time & alot of effort to commit. I do admire you guys, putting in a whole week of time and even GOOD FRIDAY! for the sake of freshies.
but I expect all who were chosen to turn up and put in a good show!
